Ladies Retreat 2011

The Anchorage’s 35th Annual Ladies Retreat has come and gone and we praise the Lord for his mighty works throughout the weekend! We were thrilled to have Carol Trahan come and speak for the second time. Carol is now ministering in Guam, teaching college and high school ages. Even though her ministry is now in Guam, the Lord has given her opportunity to continue speaking in the U.S. for certain weeks out of the year. We are so thankful that our Ladies Retreat could still benefit from this special lady. This year’s theme came from Philippians 1:27– “Christ, Our Example.” Carol challenged the ladies to look to Christ, our perfect Savior, as their one source for true contentment and hope. He will never fail us! Continue reading

Carol Trahan

Ladies Retreat 2011

Carol was saved in 1981 at the age of 22 out of a life of immorality and the occult.  She married Jeffrey Trahan in 1986.  Their daughter Sarah was born in 1987 and their son Caleb in 1989.  In October of 1994, Jeff ended his life after confessing to immoral sin that devastated their family.  Carol was 2 months pregnant with their third child (Rebekah) at the time.  As a result, the Lord showed Himself mighty intervening in their lives to reveal His awesome power, amazing grace and unfailing love and mercy.  The Lord has led her every step of the way bringing her to brokenness and the place of complete dependence on Him.

God called her into a ministry in 1996 to show forth His power and sufficiency to ladies in every circumstance of life.  Her desire is to communicate to ladies their need to walk in a state of continual revival—having a passion for the living God, loving Him and His Word supremely, knowing Him intimately and serving Him wholeheartedly.

Carol currently serves on the faculty of Northland Baptist Bible College where she teaches ladies Bible and counseling classes.  Carol has a BS in Biochemistry from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA and is scheduled to complete her MA in Biblical Counseling from Northland Baptist Bible College this year (2009).  Sarah (22) is a senior at Northland majoring in Family and Consumer Sciences.  Caleb (20) serves our country in the U. S. Army where he is in training as a combat medic.  Rebekah (14) is a student at Pioneer Christian School.  During the summer, Carol ministers through counseling and moral sessions at Northland Camp and Conference Center.

Ladies Retreat 2010

“Seasons of Life”

This year’s theme, Seasons of Life, covered the areas of life that each person has potential of being a part of. Whether or not you are in a certain stage of life, you can always minister to someone else who is. These areas include: The single life, married life, married life with children, and married life after the children leave. There were four workshops to cover these topics by four godly ladies: Lynn Martindale, Amy Wiedell, Colleen Rose, and Jean Barber. What a blessing each one of them was! This year’s main speaker was Faith Taylor from Simpsonville, SC. We are so grateful for Faith’s ministry, and that she allowed herself to be used of the Holy Spirit in this retreat.

Next year: Carol Trahan (Dunbar, WI) September 23-24, 2011 Continue reading

The Lord is working in and through this special lady and we  were thrilled to have her here for this Ladies’ Retreat!

In addition to the messages, there were also a few workshops led by Carol Trahan, Lynn Martindale, Raquel Bradshaw, and Deborah Ulrich.
